Reading the posts about elective inductions reminds me of a pregnant woman
at my breastfeeding support group Friday. She went into the hospital today
for a scheduled c-birth that her Dr. recommended. Why....because her baby
had not "dropped" into her pelvis yet. He told her she could go into labor
but would probably need a c-section anyway so they might as well do one now.
The ramifications of this are far reaching, not only is she and her baby
more at risk for complications physically, but the mere act of being a new
mother and a nursing mother is needlessly(?) complicated. It didn't even
occur to this mom to doubt the validity of this advice. So sad.
