As long as breastfeeding advocates continue to believe in the social
marketing myth of the "better" infant formula, we will continue to have
infant formula dominate over breastfeeding. This myth is part and parcel of
the infant formula industry. It's the why of the patenting of human milk
components. It's the reason why we are not a breastfeeding society.

The studies done on DHA and human milk were partly funded by Martek--who yeah
just happens to reap that long-term benefits of this claim. What is the gold
standard in infant feeding? How can they ever approach the closeness of
mother's milk and have a shelf life of two years? Yes lets spend our tax
money on research on human milk that benefits the infant formula industry to
make a better dead food in a can. Shaking her head in disbelief..talk about
shooting yourself in the foot!
