The battery operated pumps are a waste of money.  She should try one of
the better hand operated ones or consider the pump that uses pedal power
instead of the hand.  The pedal pump is made by one of the major pump
companies.  Check the archives - there was a discussion of pumps for 220
current a while ago, probably in 1996 or 1997.
