A hospital chain in my area used to rent hospital grade pumps out of their gift shops. But one by one, they are stopping the practice. One postualted reason: breast pumps have newly been categorized as Durable Medical Equipment, and that is how and why they will be covered by insurance.

So the renting / selling depot must have a DME license. That is why hospitals don't provide things like crutches. Patients are sent to a medical supplies store that does have a DME license to get their crutches - or breast pumps.

Truth or Dare?
This is one Big Deal if Truth.
