True but apparently some moms don't want this. I've taken care of a few. Most
babies went to the nursery at night so mom could get some rest. Quite a few had
the nursery give a bottle at night despite nipple confusion warnings and supply
and demand explanations. Many drs. want the babies in the nursery for rounds.
This was 2 hrs. You could take the baby to mom to nurse but probably gey
chewed out about it. So many moms are so timid too. They know baby needs to be
fed but since the baby's in the nursery don't do anything about it.

I think this is where prenatal and breastfeeding classes come in. Educate moms
they don't need to be separated from their babies. Sure, the staff will think
you a bit odd and or pushy but who cares. I had my kids at the hospital where I
used to work. Never separated from the babies at all.
