Thanks to all who responded to my question about the ad posters. I think the
final line is either you like them or you don't. I approve of them, that is
why I put them up on my office door in a conservative hospital. And it GOT
people talking, unfortunately some were negative. I can't change that even
after discussing it with them. To ease some feelings here, I did remove the
ice cream posters. However, that doesn't mean I don't like it but I think it
made people angry like Winnie said. The other thing that happens is that
people don't read the posters, the words are small on the bottom. They
didn't even see that they were published by the DHHS. If one takes the time
to stop and READ the message it comes across very well. When I showed them
to my husband he loved them, but he read them. We never thought anyone might
not.

I have completely supported the campaign and I think all of us on Lactnet
have and will. A lot has gone into this as it has been pointed out, much
time, money and many letters. A big thank you to those of you on Lactnet who
worked on it. I can't wait to see them on TV and hear them on the radio.
Maybe after people in my area get used to seeing the PSA's on TV and hearing
them on the radio I can rehang the ice cream poster to complement the
dandelions and otoscopes. Unfortunately here it may take a few more baby
steps! Cheers, Mary Ann RN, IBCLC in central WI
