I just watched the GMA cross-nursing clip. It was on at 8:06 pacific time.

I actually thought it was OK. Of course they had to talk about Babytalk
magazine's poll in which 45% of readers found cross-nursing to be
"disgusting" or "weird". They also talked about how milk from a mom
nursing a 2 yr old would not sustain a much younger baby. Not sure about
that, myself - what do you all say? Personally, I'd much prefer my baby to
have human milk from a mom nursing a 2 yr old than for him to have ABM.
Also, they discussed milk banks, knowing the mother's medical history (in
case of TB, Hep, or HIV). And lastly, they talked about how LLLI does NOT
promote cross nursing.

The two moms they interviewed gave a VERY good presentation and discussion
about what cross nursing is: A way to feed a baby. They were great. The
story came from a situation involving one mom's baby who was being cared for
by the other mom (nursing a two yr old). The baby (3 mo at time of first
cross nursing) was frantically hungry but would not take his bottle - so she
nursed him. She had her friend's blessing. These two are very close - know
each other's history.

Overall, I found it to be fairly well balanced - no hype either way.which I
thought was good.

Warmly,

J
