I hang out sometimes on the various parenting newsgroups, and just saw a
posting that I thought I'd quote here because I was so astounded by it.

Original poster was writing that her doctor said her 8-week-old baby had to
have 2 6-oz. bottles of water every day and she was having a hard time
getting the baby to drink that much water.

This person responded: "My doctor told me to give my breastfed baby
Pedialyte between feedings if he seemed hungry. The doctor said that
Pedialyte has all the same stuff in it as colostrum, so it is a good
substitute for nursing babies." She added a comment about how handy that
information was.

This is a new one for me! Pedialyte = colostrum?
