Anne Frye talks about urine therapy in her book "Understanding Diagnostic Tests
in the Childbearing Year." She says it is common in many cultures, including
Auruvedic medicine, to drink urine to maintain or increase health.

She writes:
"Urine is filtered blood; the red and white blood cells are normally removed .
. . When urine comes from the bladder it is sterile, unless a bladder infection
is present. It contains some metabolic byproducts and many minerals, enzymes,
hormones, vitamins, amino acids, antigens, and antibodies. It is these
properties which make it a healing substance and theraputically useful.
Science and cosmetic industries recognize this. Many creams contain uric acid,
a skin softening agent, and medical science is extracting more and more
purified substances from urine and incorporating the into drugs.

Many people have also benenfitted from drinking their urine, either
therapeutically during an illness, or daily to maintain health. It is
amazing, but urine therapy will reopen failed kidneys, has been known to
cure cancer and clear up allergies, as well as a host of other conditions.
AIDS patients have benefitted from the topical and internal use of urine."

I personally am not in a hurry to try this treatment, but I think we have
to be careful not to be to quick to judge someone who might!
