Why are you disappointed? I think this is great. It means all USA currency, it means being able to order from one company, it means Medela has picked a quality product for nursing moms. If I lose my IBCLC certification over this, so be it, but the problem with Medela is NOT it's products. It is allowed to sell good products and even advertise them. They still have the best selection of nursing -supportive products on the market, IMHO. This whole code issue should not be about destroying the company. To me, this is like trying to cure a toe fungus infection by amputating your leg. How are we doing with controlling the FORMULA companies? Is Nestle bankrupt yet? Boycotts really don't work, IMHO. Education of the CONSUMER is what works and changing societal attitudes. And that requires an understanding of the whole breastfeeding process as being MORE than taking milk from a producer and giving it to another recipient. Just like sex is more than an exchange for the purpose of procreation!

Gloria,

Well said. This is so disappointing. Perhaps instead of buying out other companies, Medela could spend some time and money focusing on their quality issues.

This is so unfortunate.

Best,
Amy
