I don't mean this as a criticism, but I am very puzzled as to why a mom
whose own baby will not drink EBM is pumping. At this point, she has
nobody to donate her EBM to, so why is she pumping? It seems to be such a
waste, as she may very well end up throwing her milk away. The reason I am
wondering about this is because many of the moms I work with do exactly
what this mom is doing. Why? If you have no need to pump, why would you?
The purpose of breastfeeding is to put your baby to breast, period. My
youngest is 10 now and I still get as excited today as I did 10 years ago
when I found myself in a position to (mostly) retire and for the first time
in my breastfeeding career, to be able to EXCLUSIVELY breastfeed! I
treasured every feeding! And I never had any trouble hand-expressing all
that my babies needed when I was at work. This love affair with breast
pumps, is it a US thing, or are those of you in other countries seeing this
same attitude? Just sitting here and wondering...
