Iam new to lactnert and in fact relatively new to the internet. I felt it was
high time that I stepped into the 90's. I have a little way to go yet.

I am a nurse clinician working with infants and children for whom there are
developmental or behavioral concerns and their families. I have also recently
completed a breastfeeding counsellor certificate program and wish to persue
international certification. One group of infants and children with whom I work
quite often and closely are those who have been prenatally exposed to alcohol
and other drugs during pregnacy. In this group there is much controversy
regarding breastfeeding even within the institution that I work. I would love
to hear of the experiences of those who have worked with moms who have issues re
addiction and breastfed their little ones or literature related to bf for this
population.

I am also the mommie of a beautiful 19 month old little lady.

Another hat that I wear ... Myself and a colleague are further developing a
curriculum for elementary students on the subject of breastfeeding, currently
called Nature Feeds Us. Any pearls of wisdom you have to share on this would
also be warmly received.
