I am helping a mom since birth with a little guy that just won't latch. She
has flat nipples and he latches for about 2 seconds gives one or two sucks
and then falls asleep or keeps his eyes open as if thinking about it. Last
night he had started his cluster feedings from 10:30 p.m until about
12:00a.m. (turned 3 days old at 7:30 p.m.) And of course mom's milk just
came in at that time. She is pumping and feeding with syringe and cup.
And she has started doing the 'walk' on his tongue. I am confident that now
that he is finally getting to the awake and alert stages, (a medicated
birth, so, he was very sleepy.) that we will get him going today.

My question, I want to suggest that mom and baby bathe together but should
they wait for 7 days because of his circumcision? I am confident that it
would be ok (from the lactnet posts)for the umbilicle cord, but haven't seen
circ. mentioned. (They told her no tub baths for one week.)
(Excuse me, if this has been answered before, but I am not getting an answer
in the archives, probably asking in the wrong wording, and I am two weeks
behind in reading the digests. I tried reading the last 6 today, but
nothing there.) Thanks for the references on cord care.

Thank you in advance!

Cheryl,
