how freaking frustrating.

we  have a ped ENT here who has in the past also told some moms that
it's not enough to make a difference....however, he did do it when the
mom said, in two different cases - "DO IT ANYWAY.   I'm in pain and it
might help.   There's no other problem that could be causing thing."

In those cases, moms got back with him to let him know it made all the
difference....now he's willing to do it for anyone who has any level of
issue with it.  In only one case it didn't change things.

One.  Out of lots.   but now he's so on board and i'm so grateful.
when i've referred someone to him, we role play - or at least we used
to.   we worked on how they would respond if he said 'only in the OR'
(which he said the first time, but mom was prepared)....or  it's a small
amount, it won't make a difference, it's probably not the cause of your
pain. (which he said a few times)  Now it doesn't matter, he just does
it.  And since then i've gotten to know him personally as he was the ENT
we used when my 5.5 yo had a been lodged in her ear canal.  he was so
sweet. couldn't get it out in the office, had to do it under general in
the out pt surgical center....anyhoo, I digress.
