<<Of course we all know that the best thing is to feed mom so she can feed
baby/child! Formula isn't well accepted by adults for nutrition (yuck
taste) so it ends up being fed to animals.>>

Yuck taste is right. I feed a few people on feeding tubes, and hang the
bags/syringes on levels above my head. The other day, I came up under one of
the tubes (having a really off day, at 6am...). It was filled with the
Nestle Isosource. The first 3 ingredients are water, maltodextrin and
sucrose. Of course, it dumped on my head, ran into my eyes, mouth and down
my shirt. Even after rinsing my hair, it was sticky and stiff. It got in my
eyes and burned, and the smell stayed with me until I was able to wash my
hair in a sink.

I joke with the young lady that she's fortunate this feeding goes into a
tube in her belly, and not in her mouth, because she'd dislike the taste.
She giggles and reminds me that she sometimes burps up the flavor, and it's
not her favorite. Thankfully this little punkin can take thickened foods by
mouth to round out her nutrition and taste sensations, but what a life to be
fed by the ingredients of one can, forever. (and she's old enough, and
coherent enough to realize what the deal is)

Best wishes,
Sam Doak
