Hi All,
I just have a short comment on the Oprah show. All of the situations
portrayed showed (to me) out of control children. To me, the issue was
not what was being portrayed (breastfeeding, sleep, comfort item etc.)
it was a child who had a need not being met and parents who were so
inconsistant or weak limit setters, that the children were overwhelmed
and out of control.

I was quite disappointed that the 'experts' did not address, clearly
and pointedly, that the parents need to set limits and at the same time
tend to the needs of the child.

And there we end up back at one of the biggest problems we have in
America today, if the HCP, the 'experts' if you will, cannot and will
not be honest with parents at what needs to be done and how important
tending to the needs of infants and children are, problems will arise,
we cannot get to the root of breastfeeding and parenting problems.

I would like any information on how to write to Oprah as I would like
to comment directly about the show.
TIA
Leslie (in Vine Grove, KY)
