Nikki, Frankly I don't think the usual hospital birth in the US is under
normal circumstances!  Now a midwife type birth that my daughters and dil
have had 9 times at a local hospital is another story.  No limit on food
and drink, up and moving around, showering etc. No IV, immediate nursing,
that's another story, IMHO. Sincerely, Pat in SNJ
