Judy,
As you may have read in the archives, there is an online support group called
BFAR (Breastfeeding after reduction).  This is similar to Lactnet but is only
for women who have had reduction surgery.  There is also a BFARinfo group for
health professionals.  If this mother has access to the internet, I would
encourage you to put her in touch with them.  She will be able to get some

this group and have been amazed at how wonderfully these women support and
encourage each other!  Some have breastfed several children following
reduction surgery.  They are aware that each woman's situation as well as
each lactation experience is different.  Some have had bad experiences with
LCs, which is unfortunate.  But they are able to share and support each
other. They can advise her as to pumping, supplemental systems, etc.  In
addition, she won't feel alone which so many often do...
