<<I have to admit, when I first read the IBLCE Code of Ethics clause
you quoted above, I felt that this was written with the US situation
primarily in mind and no consideration was given to different systems
in other countries. What was the consultation like when the Code of
Ethics was written? Was it just done by only Americans?

Now I have probably put my foot in it, but in my experience this is
the way we generally work here.>>

I was on the IBLCE board 92-94, and I don't specifically recall that the Code
of Ethics had been put together yet, though someone could correct me if I'm
wrong. In any case, it would have been written and approved by the entire
board which is composed of people from all over the world, including Australia,
Europe, Britain, South or Central America, and Canada as well as the U.S. So
there would have been input from everyone -- not just the North Americans.

I certainly understand what you are saying about different practitioners -- I
see a CST and have seen a chiropractor in the past. Neither of them send a
note to my primary physician (of course, I haven't a clue as to who that
currently is anyway -- I'm in the process of changing -- yet again). But when it
comes to my children, I think every practitioner that I took them to other than
their own pediatrician sent a referral letter to their pediatrician even if I
sought out their services on my own.

It's an interesting discussion....
