Do you know about this mother's milk ejection reflex?....just wondering if
perhaps the initial flow of milk is very fast and forceful, and perhaps the
little one is having trouble coping with it, and pulling off the breast to
gulp air, to get her breathe back and to stop from choking.  I have found
this to be a fairly common problem in mums who are tanden nursing.  The
baby attaches and then gulps the milk, and pulls off after a few minutes
with a tummy full of wind and refuses to go back on the breast.

If this is the case and hopefully so as it is simple to correct by allowing
the baby to suckle until the milk lets down, (or mum initiates the let down
herself) remove the baby from the breast, and catch the milk in a container
or towel/nappy and put the baby back to the breast when the flow is not so
fast.
