I have been asked to review a list of internet sites (for publication in a
local newsletter) on the basis of the credibility and independence of their
food and nutrition information. It's not as easy as it sounds; for instance,
one group is organic-center.org. When one reviews the board members, one
finds Dr. Alan Greene, "the pediatric expert for AmericanBaby.com," which
carries an advertisement from Mead-Johnson on its website for Expecta-LIPIL,
"for pregnant and nursing moms." I haven't seen the actual magazine in
quite a while--does it still advertise formula? If so, how compromised is
Dr. Greene, and how compromised is the Organic Center? Things are not as
simple as they once seemed.

If anyone has a comment on any of the following, with regard to
breastfeeding promotion or suppression or a matter of accuracy in writing on
breastfeeding issues, please email me. Thank you. [log in to unmask]

navigator.tufts.edu; organic-center.org; ifst.org [Institute of Food Science
and Technology]; cnn.com/health; news.bbc.co.uk/health.
