I remember reading an article in JHL years ago about a young man who became
quite ill during his honeymoon. He spent several weeks in the hospital, and
I remember that he was not able to tolerate any food at all for quite some
time. Eventually someone thought about giving him some breastmilk and the man
began getting well. Does anyone remember what year this was or who the
author was or anything at all that might help me locate this article? I
spent an hour tonight looking, but couldn't find it. My JHL's go back to
1987, and I just can't remember when this was. My best friend's 26 year-old
son has Crohn's disease and is currently in the hospital. This acute stage
has been much worse than in the past and he is now on TPN (total parenteral
nutrition). His wife is breastfeeding their 8 month-old, and my friend asked
if I thought there was any possibility that breastmilk might help him. Which
is exactly why I thought about this article. Any help in locating it would
be greatly appreciated!
