I am assuming this was for victims of the tsunamis from what I am reading in the articles. I am an IBCLC and work very hard to encourage & promote breastfeeding. However, remember many people lost their lives in the tsunami. Women lost their babies and babies lost their mothers. Those babies that lost their mothers are the ones that would need the baby formula, unless there are human milk banks there. Yes, there are those "entities" that sabotage breastfeeding by providing formula, but for babies that lost their mothers and breastmilk is not available, then they have to resort to formula. The one part I am concerned about is that with powder they may be mixing the formula and there is a potential of contaminated water due to the damages and death there.
