Just received a fax that alerted us to the fact that the governor of
Massachusetts has just signed a proclamation stating Aug1- 7 to be
Massachusetts Breastfeeding Week.
This is very nice news!
I'm a little harried with all the WBW activities. Last week we ( WIC
nutritionists, Peer Counselors and myself) went to Drs offices and set up
an manned (or would that be wo"manned") awareness table with literature/
breast models/ pump etc. This week we have an "interactive" booth at the
local mall. The following week I am holding a luncheon at a local
Italian restaurant for any WIC mother that has breastfed for 6 mos or
longer. I have 35 such mothers/infants and Peer Counselors attending. I
have made "favors" of a WIC mug filled with gold wrapped candies
(werthers) for each mother. I hope this turns out nicely. It is a nice
treat for the mothers for doing the best for their babies.
I'm interested in purchasing some unique breastfeeding Tshirts, any
leads?
Happy WBW to all!
