Can you play up the fact that even if mom needs to leave the baby to go
to school, the baby will be happy to see her when she comes home and
will know who mom is because she is breastfed? I also like to play up
the fact that we wouldn't give puppies dog food, we start them with
puppy chow, which for human babies is colostrum, which then changes as
baby's needs change. So she will be supplying the baby with the right
food at the right time, unlike formula, which is always the same no
matter what the baby's age....
I always get a lot of heads nodding assent with these two points. I'm
sure there are others too.
Who is coming to the Lamaze class with this girl? If you can get ALL the
heads nodding, you're on your way! Also, if family is financing, point
out that breast milk is FREE!!Even if they are on the WIC program, they
will need to supplement out of their own pockets.Play up the money
saving aspects, such as baby clothes that don't get ruined by formula
stains. No need to buy bottled baby water.Or vitamins!
Good luck.

breastfeeding may be the only way she ever gets her hands on her own

comments about how they are financing this baby, etc. I can't get her
