JoAn, I surely do wish that I could remember the books and articles that I
read back in 1968 concerning calcium and muscle/uterine cramping. In those
days, I had no interest in logging references. I was just trying to solve
my own problems and feed my babies.

The texts and articles didn't say that if I took extra calcium/magnesium my
milk supply wouldn't drop before my menstrual period, but when I read about
the connection between the blood calcium levels dropping and uterine
cramping I assumed that it would help with the milk supply problem too, and
it did.

Since that time "clinical experience" and reports from friends and family
have confirmed what I gleaned in those long-ago readings. I haven't tried
to find current published material on the subject.

I know that many of you can't pass on information that is not in current
research literature and I'm sorry that I can't supply such references on
this topic. But it *is* anecdotally sound amidst 30 years of personal,
LLLL, and more recently, LC clinical experience.
