Hello fellow lact net subscribers,

I am an RN in CT and will be sitting for the IBLCE exam in 2009. I plan on
starting a private practice as soon as I get certified and am so excited to do
so. Unfortunately, I have little professional network to talk to. I already feel
isolated before I've even begun.:(

I feel completely prepared for the clinical challenges, however I need some
preparation on the business aspect. There were many topics posted on
lactnet, but are very outdated. Aren't there any PPLC's still out there? Can
someone tell me what the average rates are for PPLC's today? Do you charge
for telephone calls? What about initial visits and follow ups? I would like to
start renting pumps, how about rental fees? Is anyone getting insurance
reimbursement? What type of insurance is needed? Is there a "standard"
care plan or super bill that is recommended?

Would anyone like to start an email group with me? Please email me privately
or post to forum. I look forward to hearing responses and hope to start back
up the buzz on private practice discussions.

Thank you,
Laura Miller, RN
