As a newly certified IBCLC who received the new SOP in her packet, I'll be
very interested to see if I receive any type of letter informing me that the
SOP has been rescinded. Just taking it off the website doesn't count as far
as I am concerned. I still have a hard copy with no 'proof' (as it were)
that I am not obligated to follow it. I don't check the IBLCE website on a
daily basis...how am I to know that the SOP has been taken off?

And what about the HCP's and others who have found out about the new SOP and
are holding us to conforming/abiding to it (as was posted by someone else a
few days ago)? Will we have some sort of proof given to us that we are not
obligated to follow it? Or just a wishy-washy "it has been taken off the
website" that really doesn't mean anything? The cat is out of the bag
unfortunately, and the IBLCE needs to do more than take the SOP off the
website. They need to send out a letter stating that we do not have to
follow this SOP and (hopefully) that they are drafting a new one, with input
from the rank and file!!

Just my .02 cents this morning!

Sweet Nursings,
