I really don't believe that weaning her 10 month old will make anything any
better other than perhaps restoring her vaginal moisture. Intercourse is
often times uncomfortable with a uterine prolapse as one can imagine.

Surgically correcting the uterine prolapse and rectocele is only one option
available to her. Has he mentioned a pessary for her prolapsed uterus?
Has she plans for a second or third opinion? I'm assuming she's a
primigravida since you mentioned no other children. What on earth happened
during her birth that might have caused this? This is something you
typically see in grandmultiparas and older women and I'm assuming she's a
younger women since she has a 10 month old.

I'd recommend other opinions and I would be wary of any physician who would
give such a ludicrous reason
for weaning her baby to "tighten her up".
