Sorry -- I hit the wrong button before I could finish:

Jake has an excellent website on BFg laws in the USA, both federal and by
each state: http://breastfeedinglaw.com/. She discusses the need for
effective enforcement provisions to give teeth to laws that are meant to
protect BFg and BFg families.

But think about it. There is no ordinance in my community "allowing" my
tear or sweat glands to operate in any place that I have a right to be.
Why do I need one "allowing" my mammary glands to operate?

Nonetheless, sometimes "the court of public opinion" does more to bring
awareness than the real courts. Most businesses do NOT, in this world of
social media, to be seen as "mommy bashers" by ridiculing and shaming
mothers who are merely BFg their children. The businesses and rec centers
are as ignorant of the law as anyone (everyone?) else. Good public
relations is a fleeting and valuable commodity. While Jake's description
of the shop owner's right to call the cops and yell trespass is correct on
the law in many states, I do not know how many folks would know (a) they
can do this, or (b) would want to do this.

It seems nurse-ins of late are bringing GOOD spotlights to businesses.
Some manager somewhere wrongly shames a BFg mom ... she takes to Twitter
or FB or whatever .. within hours the corporate HQ has issued an apology
... and the subsequent nurse-in with the now
highly-enlightened-rest-of-the-staff turns into a smiling and happy
mother-baby gathering.
