It would be more helpful if the mother began double pumping less frequently
to lessen her supply, rather than jumping to one sided pumping every six
hours. This could result in severe engorgement and set her up for a breast
infection.

 If she is now pumping 2-4 hourly, suggest three hourly and see how that
goes. She may need an explanation of supply-demand. I wonder how long she is
pumping at each session - that is a factor also. I would avoid cabbage leaves
at this stage because they have the potential to diminish the milk supply too
much if used for too long. This mother sounds over-zealous and may think that
longer is better.
