After reading Ted Greiner's touching story of the bedroom revolution his
family experienced I remember back to my own experience which was very
similar.

Older friends of my mother said that sleeping with my 8 mo. old son was
going to push him toward homosexuality. (What a sick mentality to say such
an absurd thing!) After reading "The Family Bed" we,too, relaxed into what
seems the most normal and natural way to sleep with small beings - skin to
skin.

Neither of my children ever woke up with nightmares, used a pacifier or had
a favorite toy or blanket.  My sweet husband used to say to me the
following litany:  "I'd much prefer the children's security object to be
YOU - their mother...than for their security object to be an object."
