I don't think I could endorse this for nipples; it is a very OLD remedy
and in the last four or five editions of R. Lawrence is advised
against.
There are many good products to try to heal sore nipples but
discovering the source and fixing the problem come to mind along with
healing. From what I've read, this could also be a bacterial infection.
Has anyone posted the recipe for all purpose nipple ointment ala
Newman or the Hale OTC alternative?
I'm very fond of the Comfort Gels from Hollister (used them when they
were owned by Kendall) and don't support the idea that they encourage
yeast growth. I've used them many times for thrushy nipples while
healing and they worked fine. (Remember the study that showed yeast
growth was a product from another company.)
