Hello !

I have an OB doc here that has been prescribing combination birthcontrol
pills for moms with "established milk supplies" and he is telling them
that this wont effect the supply beacuse the supply is already
established. These babies are about 4 - 6 months old and have working
moms, moms notice after a few days to weeks of taking the pill a
significant , approx 50% - 75% drop in milk supply. They are pumping so
they measure the milk on a daily basis.

I am trying to locate some articles that state that the combination pill
will decrease the supply. I need to get some articles together before I
can make a point with him, He is very agreeable and I feel that he will
listen to me if I can show him the evidence , other than telling him
what his patients are telling me.

I have searhed the archives and found lots of antedotal stuff and one
post dy Dr Jack and one by Dr Tom , but nothing specific. I also looked
in Dr Toms book , and I dont think thats enough info to convince this
MD.

Do any of you know of any articles or research done on this? Any info
will be most appreciated.

Thanks!
