"But formula is still considered
"just as good" or "almost as good" or "good enough." It is time that
formula-use *when it is not necessary* (the vast majority of the time) be
recognized as *reckless endangerment of a child* with appropriate penalties.
If people don't want to breastfeed, they shouldn't be having children."

I believe that moms should feel guilty if they choose to FF, because they are harming their child! This is coming from a mom with insufficient glandular tissue who had to partially FF with an SNS. And it ripped my heart out every time I had to put that nasty crap into my baby's body. We don't have to make moms feel guilty, though. All we have to do is educate them as to the risk and they will create their own guilt. No mom who truly cares about her child today would blow cigarette smoke in his or her face, or let them ride on the hood of the car, and that is because moms know the risks of these behaviors. Unfortunately, as long as our peds and family practice docs keep presenting FF vs BF as equal, we will have a huge battle to fight.
