I know that there are some cultures where fenugreek is made into some sort
of cake and eaten. I made tea out it, but have since realized that the
seeds can be washed down whole, with water. I also have a friend who steeps
them for about 20 minutes, drinks the tea and then eats the seeds, which
have become quite soft and, she says, quite palatable. I found the tea
quite bitter if it steeped more than five minutes, but evidentally not
everyone thinks that tastes bad!

I actually think there are benefits to using fenugreek, and any other herb
that is used in seed form, from whole seeds, rather than previously ground
versions, because there is no way of knowing how long it has been ground, or
how much the potency may have deteriorated.
