Brenda,
I had a physician go nuts (not to my face, I heard through one of our
nurse). "What is this nonsense about unlimited feeding times?". How
behind can you get. Woolridge did the research in the 80's but I guess
it takes years for research to affect practice. One good resource is
the little book from the Royal College of Midwives entitled "Successful
Breastfeeding". It states the case succinctly. I wrote that dr. a
letter, diplomatically worded about how I knew he wanted to do the best
for mothers and babies, pointing out we had the same goals. I wanted to
point out to him how OLD the advice he was giving was but I refrained.
We have heard narry a word from him since. Sometimes education works.
(Or he may be still be giving out the same info more quietly).
