I wonder if mothers who experience this due to an extremely strong suck
could try using Baby Orajel or something like it occasionally.  I found
that when I used it on my son (for teething pain), it annoyed him a little
because he couldn't suck as well, but he would nurse anyhow and I noticed a
difference in his suck.  He would also nurse longer than usual.

Just a thought.
