Hey all you "milky-love" supporters out there!-I am thinking about applying
for a position at a "soon to be formed" lactation clinic at a local hosp.
There already is an on- staff LC at hosp (non-RN) My question to anyone out
there?
-For an RN, IBCLC what is the going pay rate at a hosp clinic- or on the
floor as an LC?
-Is pay usually by the hour? by visit at the clinic?
-Have the hosps been having good luck getting re-imbursement? What do the
hosps in a clinic situation charge for a clinic appt?
This is in the suburb Boston area, by the way. The hosp is NOT very BFHI
oriented- ie; gives ABM packs at mom's request ( of course the nurses OFFER it
to them"if they want it"), and have other strange nursery habits that
undermine BF. The Hosp thinks itself to be GREAT in the BF area. Little do
they know!
My personal dilema is that I already have a private practice, not terribly
busy, but w/ 5 home-ed kids, I am not sure I really want to jump into a hosp
part-time job unless it really will be worth it.
You can respond privately if you want, but perhaps this money thing is
discussable on Lactnet???
Thanks-
