There are nursing mothers who give their babies formula when they drink, so I am not comfortable saying that you should not drink or you should wait a certain number of hours after drinking alcohol.  When I teach, I talk about parenting ability, being clear-headed, and setting a good example for your children.  If the baby is premature or ill with a liver disorder, I do think it's better to avoid alcohol, just in case, but these are short-term things.  Or if you are drinking an extreme amount daily, in which case, maybe CPS needs to be involved.
