I have several pump dealer friends that have opened up the diaphrams on used
Pump In Styles and found mold and bacteria growing. This would not be a
hypothetical risk of contamination. I have heard of people finding milk in
the motors of cheap brands of small electrical pumps also.

I guess it might be better to restate, not as the hypothetical risks OF
contamination, since it seems likely that it does occur, but the hypothetical
risks FROM contamination. The baby may or may not get sick as a result, and we
just don't know right know whether these risks actually lead to illnesses. It
would be nice to have some real info about that to help parents. After Linda
Pohl's talk in NYC, I have been sharing this info about the aerosolization of
milk in certain pumps and possible problems, and they seem very grateful.
Live, learn, and share info as it changes right?
