I have a couple of thoughts.
It could be reasonable for baby to be monitored but no intervention done, in
light of baby's good health, development, and weight gain.
Are you sure this is not an overlactation type situation, because the weight
gain is pretty big (one pound in one week!). With this, has it been explored
with mother re finishing the first breast first, and possible block feeding?
I agree the prenatal vitamins and/or iron can be an irritant. Are they
absolutely necessary for mother? Can they be stopped temporarily, as another
poster suggested?
Can mother obtain these vitamins/minerals from food?
Also can mother think of something that changed at the 2 week mark?
Certainly milk allergy or sensitivity is common, but there are many other
allergens that mother can think about if one of them was introduced at 2 wks
or consumed regularly? Fish, shellfish, citrus, tree nuts? etc.
