Since you don't want to risk personal messages at that e-mail address,
I'll say it here: I think I have a certain understanding of your dilemma,
having debated even just the financial side of it for several years
before my own retirement. The "golden parachute" is a coin with two
sides, as you explained. Each one of us has to choose our battles wisely.
Survival has to be a priority.

I remember being in a similar situation once, not about infant feeding,
but about pitocin induction, back in the days of buccal pit. But
fortunately, I was only 45 at the time-time to get 20 years in with my
next, more tolerant employer! (I still volunteer 8-10 hours a week for
them since I retired.)

Do what you have to do, and know that we are all with you in spirit. And
please, give us your home e-mail address in the meantime! And when you
get to "escape" to retirement, stay with us on LN sharing your wisdom
and clinical experience. For a hobby, try your hand at writing some of
your insights professionally. Take pleasure in knowing you are "passing
the baton" to the future runners in this relay race to change our
culture! The younger ones too, as Jerome Kern's song "Ole Man River"
says, often "gets weary and sick o' tryin". We appreciate you for keeping
on whatever trying you decide to do!
