Lisa points out,

Lisa, if nurses working in maternity hospitals and units are midwives, what
do you call nurses working in other areas -- such as medicine, surgery,
pediatrics, etc?  Are they not nurses?  Is what they do considered "nursing"
(as a profession), or something else?
