My favourite publication on this subject is an old article from J of
Pediatrics. Slome (1956) Non-puerperal lactation in grandmother. J of
Pediatrics 49: 550-552

Basically grandmothers on babysitting duty accidently relactating as they
comfort their grandchild at the breast. It is similar to a whole heap of
papers mid last century that talk about this very stange occurance where
women have milk even if they have not given birth (or even stranger- not had
sex- not sure about the connection there but they do make much of virgin
lactation in some papers)
I like this particular article because it comes complete with photos of a
grandmother squirting out milk- there really was a lot of scepticism that
this could really happen.

Who wouldn't mind breastfeeding her grandchildren but has a while to go yet!
