Could anyone help here with this.

Basically the mum is pregnant and has long term poor control juvenile
diabetes. She has related problems in her leg and eyes and has just been
diagnosed with mastopathy. Her breasts feel very lumpy and hard.

She want to know if she would be able to breastfeed. Ideally it would be
great for her to connect with a mother in the same or similar position to
share her experiences in relation to breastfeeding.

The mum is learned, done alot of internet surfing to try to get info, left
messages on related message boards, been in contact with her local diabetic
support group and doctor but no info.

I am wondering if this is wait and try situation. Would information about
milk production as a response to hormones be appropriate? (She is finding
diagrams of the breast negative because where the straightness of the duct
that they portray but am sharing the echogram studies with her). Also
inform her of SNS and other feeding methods so that she is aware that if
things do not work out immediately not all hope is lost. Any other ideas?
This mum is keen.
