This is the information on the package I got out of the room wherre the
Infant massage class for the nurses was being held at our hospital last week.
This is from the E______ Artificial baby milk company. ( I am not spelling
out the tradmark names.)
The label on the can says" L_____-a blend of DHA and ARA-nutrients found in
breastmilk". The side of the box says: L_____ is a blend of the nurtrients
DHA and ARA. DHA and ARA are nutrients also found in breast milk that are
important building blocks for a baby's brain and eyes".

On the back of the package is "Supplementing tips-- Introduce formula
gradually, let someone else offer the first bottle, pick a good time, let
your baby be your guide, Remember supplementing doesn't have to be weaning."
"Starting infant formula. Although every situation is unique, introducing
infant formula gradually is easier for you and for your baby. It helps
prevent breasts from engorgement and gives your baby time to adjust to the
change."
There is a chart with illustrations of breastfeedings to bottles of E______
L______.

Day
1,2,3 3 Breastfeedings, 1 bottle, 4 breastfeedings
4,5 3 breastfeedings, 2 bottles, 3 breastfeedings
6,7 3 breastfeedings, 3 bottles, 2 breastfeedings

There are two cans of powder, 36 oz which makes 27 oz ( what happened to the
1 scoop of powder to 1 scope of water instructions that we used to tell our
WIC clients???)
Inside also is a bottle illustrated with ABC's. There is an insert describing
the nipple as a ultra wide nipple to ease the transition between breast and
bottle. It is interesting that the warning on the insert is longer then the
instructions. Warnings are about : risk of tooth decay, prolonged use of
bottles, heating in microwaves, tears in the nipples, do not attempt to
enlarge holes, testing for strength of nipple, do not allow child to walk or
run with a nurser, dcorations are nontoxic.
The booklet inside about the DHA and ARA says that these occur naturally in
some of the foods you eat. (But I thought I read it is from seaweed, fish
parts, etc????)
There is also a 32 page booklet on "Nourishing your Baby with love,
Introducing formula to your bay's diet. A special guide from E-------".
Now what this has to do with Infant Massage I don't know but that was the
topic of the video and this was the prize.
Interesting. I will try to mail this to Marsha Walker this week.

frantically for the exam to recertify!)
