please forgive my ignorance on this- but as I read the
posts about Lactogenesis II and whether it will occur
earlier with a more "ideal" or physiologically normal
birth experience I wonder if aren't we missing
something?

Perhaps it isn't supposed to occur any much earlier
than 36-48-72 hours- perhaps the newborn needs that
colostrum ONLY for the first 36-48-72 hours and that
getting Lactogenesis II to occur sooner shouldnt
really be something to strive for ?

I realise the discussion is also about ensuring a
healthy milk supply is established but I wonder if we
forget that colostrum is so unique and vital and
necessary a first food that we shouldnt be in such a
hurry to replace it eh?
