Hi, Lactfolks,

As a La Leche League Leader, I'd say LLL is trying to offer research-based
information on breastfeeding and breastfeeding-related parenting practices, in
a non-judgmental way, accepting and empowering moms so they can make their own
decisions. That's it.

The only instance where LLLI requires anyone to agree with its philosophy is
if she's applying for Leadership.

It's often stated, before any LLL discussion, "As with any advice, take what
you need and leave the rest. You're the mom, and you know best what suits
you, your baby, and your family situation."

Hope this will help. And get the topic off Lactnet. (Yes, that's a
disgruntled note you hear.)

Thanks,
Lisa Mo
