I'm not sure about the CCK. But lately I have been wondering WHY formula companies are allowed to provide formula to maternity wards that are in two ounce amounts? If a newborn baby's tummy can only hold 22-27 mls on day three, less on days one and two, what is the message sent in handing a parent vastly more formula than their baby's tummy can comfortably hold on day one?

Anyway the saitiey cues are being taught in California with the Baby Behaviors program of WIC. There is a fantastic video clip of a baby who is clearly full, attempting to deflect the bottle that is being put back into his mouth. It is very enlightening to parents. The narration also explains why the baby goes ahead and continues eating, because of his reflexive need to keep his airway clear.
